Sample Specification for Heating System Conversion: From Oil to Gas

Who: Heating Contractor, Environmental Service (for Oil Tank Abandoment)

Remove existing boiler and then replace with new gas fired, water furnace complete with new controls, manifold arrangement, balancing cocks, gas piping from back to units, thermostat, wiring, vent, purger, stack damper and all new chimney connections.

Excavate hole to expose the crown of the tank, cut 2 foot by 2 foot hole tank and enter with level D protection. Remove all liquids, squeegee clean and rag wipe interior surface, remove fill and vent pipes. Dispose of all sludge and water according to environmental regulations. Fill tank with clean fill material.

Please Note: Environmental regulations require inspection of the soil by a local code officer to determine potential contamination by oil tank leakage.
