Housing Rehabilitation Online Specifications Vinyl Siding Installation

Why: Modernization, Age (Inefficient Thermal Value), Lead Content Present

When: March-November (Northeastern)

Who: General Contractor, Vinyl Siding Contractor

Supply and install double 4" clapboard type vinyl siding. The siding shall be manufactured by Heartland "HeartTech" super polymer or equivalent.

Supply and install 1/2" extruded styrofoam insulation board. The insulation shall be manufactured by either Amoco or equivalent.

Supply and install new aluminum wrap and trim. All wrap and trim shall be field fabricated from coil stock. Supply and install new vinyl or aluminum soffit material throughout the entire house.

Notes:

• A manufacturer's warranty shall be issued to the Owners upon completion.
• The nails used for the installation of the siding shall be of sufficient size to penetrate the insulation board and the existing siding and sheathing.
• Nails used for the fastening of the aluminum wrap and trim shall be made of color coated aluminum.
• All window and door trim, rakes and fascias will be covered with aluminum wrap.
• The wrap and trim shall be caulked when installed.
• The highest quality shall be predicated when installed by trade standards.
• There shall be no voids to allow for water seepage.
• Drip caps shall be installed over all fascia wraps and extend under the roofing shingles.
• The color and style to be selected by Owner.
